Choosing safe settings

PDF tasks include joining documents, splitting pages, rotating pages and reducing size. First decide whether the document contains forms, signatures or accessibility tags because transformations may flatten advanced features.

Compression is most effective on scanned pages and photographs. Excessive compression can make small print difficult to read. Review every generated page and verify order and orientation.

Quality checklist

Keep the original, especially for contracts and records. Confirm searchable text and links after processing, and avoid uploading sensitive documents unless online processing is appropriate.

A completed progress bar proves that processing ended, not that the result is suitable. Open the exported file, check the beginning and end, verify duration and dimensions, and listen for audio synchronization. For documents, confirm page order, searchable text and readability of small print. For transparent images, view the result over both a light and dark background.

Privacy and safe handling

Before uploading a sensitive file, consider whether local software is more appropriate. Remove unnecessary metadata from files intended for public release and inspect the final item for names, location information or private background details.

A practical selection checklist

If a local file is rejected, confirm that the extension matches its actual type and try a smaller known-good sample. Refresh the page, then test another modern browser. If a public address fails, verify that the complete address opens without a private login, copied surrounding text or an expired temporary token.
